Monroe Historical Society
The Monroe Historical Society (est. 1959) is a volunteer driven nonprofit (501c3) dedicated to preserving Monroe, CT’s heritage and the spirit of our people. To encourage an insight into the past, the society engages in activities that are educational, cultural and social in nature.
Monroe Farmers Market
The Monroe Farmers' Market is a seasonal market offering fresh, locally-grown produce, baked goods, prepared foods and hand-crafted products to the community. All of the products are grown, raised or made in Connecticut, by people who care deeply about the land and make thoughtful, conscientious choices for its stewardship. In 2023, we were voted #1 Farmers' Market in Connecticut (AGAIN!), through America's Farmland Trust. We couldn't be more proud or thankful for the support of the community helping us achieve this!
Sticks and Stones Farm
Sticks and Stones Farm is a 60-acre natural space featuring its landmark Stone Barn, an organic community giving garden and unique homegrown cabins. It's currently managed by the non-profit Love Has a Home and also serves as the home for Two Coyotes Wilderness School and Real Food Share. The farm lovingly opens its doors to the Newtown community, Fairfield County, and beyond.
